Love In Mind
Where is the mind? Last night
moonlight lit my garden
vaguely, made it though I knew it,
more unknown, profounder than by day
and I thought of you again, so far away.
Love, did you feel my touch
but brushed it off in sleep
as though it were your hair,
that kiss placed on darling face,
unknowing there? Unembodied
love is everywhere and no less sweet
for that. Last night moonlight
lit my garden and I thought again of you.
I saw vague shadows flit
though nothing flew.
